FAQ for registration
Q: What is the period for registration?
A: Early registration: 15th September 2016 – 1st December 2016
Late registration: 2nd December 2016 – 15st February 2017
Q: Who is eligible to participate in the conference?
A: The target group is PhD students, but anybody who is interested in Microbial Communication may attend.
Q: How much is the conference fee?
A: The early registration fee is 70 € and the late registration fee is 90 €. For JSMC/AquaDiva members the amount is reduced to 55 € and 70 €, respectively. The exact amount including the cost for the social activities will be sent to you with the e-mail confirming the receipt of your registration.
Q: What is my affiliation?
A: Affiliation is the organization you belong to. It might be a university, a research institute, etc.
Q: What is included in the conference fee?
A: The conference fee covers attendance at all scientific sessions, workshops, access to the exhibition and poster area, book of abstract, certificate of attendance, soft drinks, juices and snacks during breaks and at welcome reception.
Q: What is not included in the conference fee?
A: Social activities, conference dinner, travel expenses, accommodation, etc.
Q: How to pay for the conference fee?
A: The payment is possible via bank transfer or credit card. The details are sent to you with the e-mail confirming the receipt of your registration. The conference fee has to be paid in advance, within four weeks after registration.
Q: When will my registration be confirmed?
A: We will send a confirmation of registration to you by e-mail once we received the receipt of your payment. If we do not receive it within three weeks, we will have to cancel your registration.
Q: How can I cancel my registration?
A: Please send us an e-mail to email@example.com, including your registration ID. During early registration (15th September – 1st December) we can refund your conference fee minus an administration charge of 20 EUR and bank charges. During late registration, we are not able to refund any money.
Q: Who is eligible to apply for a talk/poster?
A: Anybody doing research in Microbial Communication may apply for a presentation of his/her work. However, as MiCom is a student conference, abstracts by PhD students are preferred and have a higher chance to be accepted.
Q: How to get an invitation letter for the visa application?
A: When we have confirmed your registration, you can respond to this e-mail asking for an invitation letter. Please note that we cannot do this before receiving the conference fee and that after sending the invitation letter, we cannot refund any money.
Q: What is the registration ID?
A: The registration ID is a number consisting of the word MiCom2017_2-3-digit number. It will be sent to you with the e-mail confirming the receipt of your registration. You will need it for the abstract submission and we ask you to refer to this ID in all your communication with us.
Q: Can you organize the accommodation for me?
A: Accommodations are not arranged by the organizing team but we have listed helpful information here.
Q: How to handle a certain diet?
A: We are happy to consider any food restrictions, just let us know in advance.
